"Buy
it now!" and "Bid up" Systems:
JEN Auction uses "Buy it now!" and "Bid up" systems for
bidding.
"Buy it now!" is used when a seller wishes to close the auction
of his machine as early as possible. "Buy it now!" price is displayed
in "Buy it now!" price box. The auction of a given machine will
be closed when a bid is made at the "Buy it now!" price and the
bidder wins the auction. If no bid is made at "Buy it now!" price,
"Bid up" system is used to determine the winner.
In the "Bid up" system the price of a given machine rises as a new
bid is made. The winner is the bidder of the highest price at the end of the
auction of a given machine. If a bidder wishes, auto-bid system can be set
for his bidding. In "Bid up" system auctions, auto extension might
take place as explained below.
Auto-bid System
The goal of automatic bidding is for you to win the auction
at the lowest possible price. Automatic bidding places bids on your behalf
at the lowest possible increment. Simply enter your maximum bid (the highest
amount that you are willing to pay) by clicking "+" button multiple times. Your maximum bid will not appear until a new bid comes
to be equal to or greater than your maximum bid. When a new bid exceeds your
maximum bid, you will receive e-mail notifying that the highest price has
been renewed. In order to win the auction, you need to set your maximum bid
higher than the new highest price.
*** Important!
***
Remember that the bidding price that you set for automatic bidding
(= your maximum bid) is the price that You Actually Pay when you win the auction.
(You cannot lower that price after you win the auction.)
Please make sure, therefore, to place your maximum bid below your actual maximum
buy price amount.
Auto Extension
Auction will be automatically
extended when one or more bids come in just before the closing time. It will
occur as follows.
|
Minutes to be extended |
When to occur |
| First extension |
3 min. |
A bid comes in within the last 3 min. |
| Second extension and thereafter |
2 min. |
A bid comes in within the last 2 min., continues until no bids come in within the last 2 min. |
The auction with auto extension ends when no bids occur within the last two
minutes of the extended closing time.
